3 dives today, 3 amazing dives. Out with Ellen and Andrew to Shark Point, amazingly void of any sharks today, Haipe reef, and the hills of Haipe. All three had very different geography and coral composition but pick of the bunch goes to Haipe reef, never have I seen such vivid colours and such diverse range of schooling coral fish, truly spectacular. Had a little snorkel over towards Rendova Island on our surface interval and found a few little pure bred anemone fish.
After diving headed over to the Peter Joseph Museum, of more commonly referred to as ‘Barney’s House’, which is a little shed behind the soccer pitch filled with artefacts from the battle of New Georgia in WWII. Inside the packed shed is ordinance, ranging from 9mm handgun rounds to a 500lb bomb- without the explosives in it of course- everything from field first-aid kits to water canteens, dog-tags to tommy guns, coke bottles and Saké bottles.
Back to the lodge for a beer, bolognaise and bed.
